SCHERZI DELLA MENTE (2016)

My approach to photography has always been mainly directed at the real data transfiguration. In this process, the light and the point of view play a decisive role. The passage from the objective to the subjective is in photography, as in life, characterized by a precarious balance.  Some experiences change the way we relate to the outside. There are no reference points, ability to orient, or certainties. An altered state of mind caused by a strong emotional upheaval can lead to the loss of objectivity. The reality can be understood as the unstoppable flow of life; it flows, the time does not stop, advancing relentlessly like a jet of water. From this continuous flow, it is possible to extrapolate few fragments, decisive moments, often not referable to a univocal reading.

SOLILOQUIO (2017)

Someone protect me from what I desire or at least free me from what I want.”

Vinicio Capossela

Our reminiscence is made up of images that we often call into mind. They transfigure in form, lose definition, assume different meanings in the light of the mood of the moment: a closed hand becomes vain, obstinate, extreme attempt to grasp a thought, a inner struggle to hold it, yield, acceptance. The memory is immersed in emotion: it becomes a clear liquid that protects it, the water of a deep well into which it can be dragged down, or a disruptive force that can overwhelm the subject of suffering only after a long, tormented love soliloquy.
