REFRESH ALERT (2015)

The series aims to embody a complex vision of how we exploit images today. The research sets out from the consideration that with the spread of internet and the social media it has become ever more difficult to contextualise and establish relations between the fragmentary visions that we find ourselves faced with on a daily basis. While viewing news, on the net or on the walls of our social network profiles (placed alongside other events and their relative representations of an entirely different nature, such as parodies or adverts) we no longer manage to follow a single and linear line of reasoning, but we are instead continually subjected to a flood of perceptual contrasts.

From these premises, the work sets out to restore the sensation of con fusion and instability generated by our growing incapacity to give a precise positioning and a value images. Taken from the net and from social media, they appear to have been removed from their usual vortex and put back together in compositions that may evoke new possible meanings.
