Löffelholz

Born in Germany, she is an independent curator and journalist.

After the BA in Romanic Philology and German studies, she works as a cultural manager for Kulturbüro LaRete di Weimar, organizing exhibition projects at european level (überMENSCHEN, EUROPA VIDEO ARTE, RADAR, Coniugazioni).

Her interests are focused in particular on time based art, social and collective practices and on site and audience specific projects. In 2004, together with Julia Draganović, she founded the curatorial collective LaRete Art Projects, an experimental platform devoted to these new artistic strategies.

She works as co-curator for the International Award for Partecipative Art, promoted by the Legislative Assempbly of Regione Emilia-Romagna. She curated exhibitions and events, projects and performances in Italy and abroad, among which Charlotte Ginsborg’s exhibition, Trapped in the mirror, SPAC, Buttrio; VIRES. Exercises on power–Exercises of Choice (with Julia Draganovic), Maria José Arjona’s performances at Teatro Anatomico dell’Archiginnasio and in the city-center of Bologna; Tea Mäkipää, Domesticated Nature, z2o, Rome; Michele Zaza, Lo spazio del Respiro, Galleria Bianconi, Milano and together with Julia Draganovic some thematic exhibitions of videoart, such as The Eye of the Collector, Villa delle Rose, Bologna; Io, tu, noi e gli altri, Fotografia Europea, Reggio Emilia and Girls or boys? Who cares?!, Art Miami; It’s your turn with Susanne Bosch, Pablo Helguera and Icaro Zorbar. She is now working for the exhibition project dedicated to the Slovenian collective IRWIN (Galleria Civica di Modena, 2014; Kunsthalle Osnabruck, Germania and Łaźnia Centre for Contemporary Art, Danzica, Polonia in 2015).

She is a member of IKT (International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art) and she published many essays and articles.
